Ab initio simultaneous reproduction of binding energies and charge radii

Demonstrate ab initio nuclear many-body calculations that simultaneously reproduce both nuclear binding energies and nuclear charge radii across the nuclear chart using consistent inter-nucleon interactions.

Background

State-of-the-art approaches such as density functional theory and ab initio methods have achieved notable successes, but concurrently reproducing both binding energies and charge radii remains difficult.

The authors position MISR as a complementary phenomenological framework and note that a robust ab initio solution to this joint reproduction problem is still open.

References

For ab initio methods, the simultaneous reproduction of both binding energy and nuclear charge radii remains an open challenge.
