Scaling Laws in Particle Physics and Astrophysics

Published 7 Jun 2011 in physics.gen-ph | (1106.1270v1)

Abstract: Disclosure of scaling relationship between observable quantities gives direct information about dynamics of natural phenomenon. This is the main reason why scaling plays a key role in the methodology of natural sciences. In this talk, Part I will consider several diverse scaling laws in particle physics. Part II is dedicated to the to the extension of Chew-Frautschi hadronic spin/mass scaling relation to the realm of astronomical objects.
