From Strings to the LHC. Les Houches Lectures on String Phenomenology

Published 24 Apr 2012 in hep-th | (1204.5296v1)

Abstract: These notes are based on lectures given at the Les Houches Summer School in 2011, which was centered on the general topic "Theoretical Physics to face the challenge of LHC". In these lectures I reviewed a number of topics in the field of String Phenomenology, focusing on orientifold/F-theory models yielding semi-realistic low-energy physics. The emphasis was on the extraction of the low-energy effective action and the possible test of specific models at LHC. These notes are a brief summary, appropriately updated, of some of the main topics covered in the lectures.
