Instability of localized pulses in nonlinear electrodynamics

Abstract: We analyse the development of instability in the framework of nonlinear electrodynamics based on the Maxwell's equations without approach of slowly varying amplitudes and phases. The action is chosen from the Heisenberg-Euler Lagrangian, based on invariants of the electromagnetic field. The resulting scenario for the development of instability is consistent with the previously made conclusion in the framework of the approximation of slowly varying amplitudes and phases.
