Introduction to Decentralization and Smart Contracts

Published 12 Mar 2019 in cs.CR | (1903.04806v1)

Abstract: The aim of this work is to study the use of decentralization and smart contracts on blockchain networks. We investigate the implementation and use of smart contracts on the platforms Bitcoin, Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric. Additionally, we have researched consensus algorithms and their respective uses, mentioning both advantages and disadvantages where necessary. To conclude, there is an example contract that is meant to be a close to direct translation of a generic legal house rental contract to show how a legal contract can be translated.
