Meshfree simulation of multiphase flows with SPH family methods

Published 23 Oct 2020 in physics.flu-dyn and physics.comp-ph | (2010.12189v1)

Abstract: With meshfree and fully Lagrangian features of particle methods, smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) is suitable to achieve high-accurate simulations of multiphase flows with large interfacial deformations, discontinuities, and multi-physics. In this review, the basic concept of SPH is first briefly introduced. Then, various implementations of SPH in regard to multiphase flow simulations are summarized and discussed. Some problems associated with SPH simulations of multiphase flows are suggested as requiring attention.
