Stochastic mRNA production by a three-state gene
Published 19 May 2022 in math.DS and q-bio.QM | (2205.09271v1)
Abstract: We consider a model of mRNA production governed by the dynamics of a gene that exists in three possible states -- inactive, poised and active. The transitions between the adjacent states are controlled by stochastic processes characterized by corresponding on/off rates. mRNA is produced only when the gene is in active state and we also consider mRNA denaturation leading to its death.
