Understanding template methods for top polarisation measurements

Published 16 Sep 2022 in hep-ph and hep-ex | (2209.07866v1)

Abstract: Top polarisation measurements at the LHC are often performed using template methods. I discuss the role of quantum interference between polarisation states - which is mostly overlooked in the literature. Furthermore, I argue which is the correct definition of the `templates' of definite polarisations, in order to match the experimental measurements with meaningful theoretical predictions.
