When More Is Less: Pitfalls of significance testing

Published 21 Nov 2022 in stat.AP | (2211.11814v1)

Abstract: The controversy about statistical significance vs. scientific relevance is more than 100 years old. I highlight, illustrate and discuss potential pitfalls of statistical significance testing on three occasions.
