Nonstrictly hyperbolic systems and their application to study of Euler-Poisson equations

Published 6 Oct 2024 in math.AP, math-ph, and math.MP | (2410.04597v1)

Abstract: We study inhomogeneous non-strictly hyperbolic systems of two equations, which are a formal generalization of the transformed one-dimensional Euler-Poisson equations. For such systems, a complete classification of the behavior of the solution is carried out depending on the right side. In particular, criteria for the formation of singularities in the solution of the Cauchy problem in terms of initial data are found. Also we determine the domains of attraction of equilibria of the extended system for derivatives. We prove the existence of solutions in the form of simple waves. The results obtained are applied to study the main model cases of the Euler-Poisson equations.
