On the full subcomplexes of Bier spheres and their applications to real toric spaces

Abstract: A Bier sphere is a simplicial sphere obtained as the deleted join of a simplicial complex and its combinatorial Alexander dual. We focus on particular classes of full subcomplexes of Bier spheres, and determine their topological types. As applications, we explicitly describe the cohomology of real toric spaces associated with Bier spheres.
