Spectroscopic Study of Blue Straggler Stars in the Globular Cluster NGC 3201
Abstract: We conducted a spectroscopic study of 39 blue straggler stars in the globular cluster NGC 3201. The spectra of these stars were collected from the literature. We determined the radial velocity, atmospheric parameters (Teff, log g), and the abundance of Mg, as well as the metallicity ([Fe/H]) of the blue straggler population. The mean radial velocity and [Fe/H] are determined to be 498.0 $\pm$ 5.3 km/s and -1.42 $\pm$ 0.27, respectively, for the blue straggler stars. The derived [Fe/H] is consistent, within uncertainties, with the cluster's [Fe/H] of -1.59 dex. The mean [Mg/Fe] for the blue straggler stars is estimated to be 0.36 $\pm$ 0.73. Importantly, this study first estimates [Mg/Fe] for the blue straggler stars in the cluster NGC 3201.
