Provider-side opacity in agent behavior remains unresolved

Develop a verification and auditing mechanism within the Decentralized AI Platform that enables an enterprise to reliably distinguish genuine technical faults from provider-imposed policy interventions (e.g., silent content filters or value overrides) when autonomous agent operations are blocked or altered, so that provider-side opacity is eliminated in production deployments.

Background

The paper identifies that not all failures observed at runtime are due to the agent or enterprise infrastructure; some arise from opaque, provider-imposed constraints such as silent content filters, which return ambiguous errors and undermine trust and diagnosability.

To restore accountability, the authors argue that the Decentralized AI Platform must incorporate provider-side verification so operators can attribute causes correctly and audit them, but they explicitly note that this capability is not yet available and is deferred to future research (§7.2.3–§7.2.4).
